Pro Bono School Therapy Support

School therapy support offers numerous benefits for children, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Through tailored interventions, children can improve their motor skills, communication, social interactions, and emotional regulation. Therapy support in schools also promotes inclusion, ensuring that all students receive the assistance they need to succeed. By addressing individual needs within the school environment, therapy enhances learning, boosts confidence, and fosters a positive and supportive atmosphere for every child.

School Occupational Therapy support details:

We are committed to offering 3 free Occupational Therapy sessions including Occupational Therapy assessments and a family and teacher coaching session as a vital first step in empowering families and schools in understanding the child’s unique needs and learning how to support the child's development. Occupational Therapy assessments can range from hundreds to even almost a thousand dollar, making them unaffordable for many parents seeking help for their child. We provide this for free as this is essential for children who need it. By waiving these fees, parents save up to $600 with our Pro Bono service. We offer this support because we believe it’s essential for families to access this critical first step. Families are not obligated to continue services with us after completing the Pro Bono School Occupational Therapy Support service, though many choose to due to the positive impact.

Our commitment to provide access to Occupational Therapy help.

Our mission is to make therapy accessible to all, bridging societal gaps so that no child is excluded due to financial limitations. We believe that quality therapy should be a resource available to every child. We are committed to creating equal opportunities, recognizing that early intervention through Occupational Therapy is vital for addressing developmental challenges and setting children on a path to success—in academics, social interactions, and beyond.

We provide free Occupational Therapy assessments as timely assessments can be transformative. These assessments provide families and educators with crucial insights, highlighting the foundational support each child needs to thrive. For instance, if a child is struggling to keep pace with schoolwork or engage meaningfully in classroom activities, a comprehensive OT assessment can uncover these learning hurdles. From the results of these assessments, the Occupational Therapist may advise schools on actionable recommendations, such as classroom accommodations that help the child stay focused during lessons and perform better in exams.

By prioritizing equal access to these services, we aim to dismantle barriers that can prevent children from reaching their potential. Our commitment is to empower families, support educators, and create a more just society where every child has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their financial situation

Key Elements of the Occupational Therapy Assessment:

Our Occupational Therapy assessment evaluates various aspects based on the PEO (Person-Environment-Occupation) model, which focuses on understanding the dynamic relationship between the child (person), their environment, and the activities they engage in (occupation). Specifically, we assess:

The Individual: We conduct standardized and clinical observations, when applicable, of the child’s skills. Areas assessed may include gross motor, fine motor, executive functioning, social skills, play skills, cognitive skills, visual skills, and more.

The Home and School Environment: We assess the social and physical factors influencing the child's daily life. This includes the supportive roles of those around them, the layout of their environment, and the activities they engage in. Our goal is to help create an optimal environment for the child's growth and success.

Our aim is that, through these assessments, families and teachers will gain a deeper understanding of the child’s needs, allowing them to pursue the right kind of additional support. We offer up to three sessions, when applicable, to ensure we can assist as many children as possible with this important first step.

We believe that by working together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of children who need it most.
